Happy Halloween

We have had lots and lots and lots of fun going from one place to the next. I'm not sure when I will get to update again, but I'm keeping tonight's short because I am tired. (so what else is new?)

Anyway, this Halloween season has been really fun. Last year I got a ton of costumes for the kids to play with. They were $2.50 - 5.00 each. And most of them were good quality costumes. So this year I just let them pick what they wanted to be out of the costume box. What was fun is for each event at least 2 of them picked different costumes. So it was fun having, Cinderella, Barbie, Pippi Long stocking, an astronaut, an indian, Captain hook, the Hamburgular, Woody, a wizard and a dinosaur this year.

We went Trick-or-treating at a friend's house tonight. It was great. I dressed up like a hillbilly (overalls, pig tails and big freckles). Ashley wanted to be just like me. So I put her hair up in braided pigtails with pipe cleaners so they would stick straight up or out. And I put some cute freckles on her. Then for her outfit she picked out colorful tights, ballerina outfit and a pretty pink sweater. She really was cute. So when she asked me what her name was, I thought she kind of looked like Pippy (how do you spell her name?). So she went around saying my Mommy is Pippy and I am Pippy. I will upload the pictures tomorrow.

By the way I spent 4+ hours carving pumpkins yesterday. No wonder I am hurting so bad today. Anyway, we have 3 really cute pumpkins that I'll share the next time I post too. We have Thomas the tank engine, Blue's Clues and ghosts in a window. I can't believe I didn't put 2 and 2 together until just now. I plan to see a chiropractor tomorrow, my neck has been hurting tremendously.

Beautiful pictures

Well I got some cute, cute pictures today from a company called Portraits International. They travel around to Sam's Club and take Old fashioned looking pictures. I had a hard time choosing and staying in budget. But thankfully Dana showed up and helped me choose and I didn't get too carried away.

Anyway, I got home and called the company to see if it was legal or ok to post my pictures on my blog. And they said it would be ok. I talked to Rosie at 4:45PM (just covering all the bases). They also said that they will release a copywrite release if we wanted to use any for Christmas. So I just might do that.

Trunk or Treat

I got a great compliment today! I took the kids to Jiffy Lube with me to get my oil changed. I tried to "teach school" there, but the TV was too loud and too hard to compete with. But I did have them cutting pictures. I was very super impressed that Austin was very good at cutting on the lines that I drew. Out of all of them I thought he would be the one that would be all over the place. Anyway, there were several people getting there oil changed at the same time. The lobby was full. So on our way out the door, a man looked at me and said sincerely, "Good job Mom". Then another lady shook her head and said, "You did do a great job with your kids." I was shocked. It made me feel great though!!!

So we went home to get into costumes. Austin said he wanted to be Captain Hook and he stuck to it (Captain Hook with goggles). Ashley was going to be Cinderella, but changed her mind when she saw the box of costumes. She was Barbie with a crown instead. Then Mason, that silly boy, I asked him what he wanted to be and he said, "you know...a shopper". He wants to be a Shopper when he grows up. I had no idea how I was going to dress him. Thankfully he changed his mind when he saw the costumes too. He ended up being Woody from Toy Story with a hook.
So in the car I was explaining to them that this was not Halloween Night and that we were going to do something a little different called Trunk or Treating. Mason corrected me and said, "Trick or Treating". So I tried to explain to them what Trunk or Treating meant. I said that cars will have their trunks open and we can go up to them and say trick or treat and get candy. Then Ashley said, "How will we get them to STOP?" LOL! She thought the cars would still be going and we would have to wave them down or something.





So we went to Ann's church for Trunk or Treating. Wow they really did it up good!! I have never seen anything like it. There were atleast 50 cars participating. They had ponies to ride and two jump houses and hot dogs for everyone. It was truly amazing. I misunderstood Dana and got there an hour early. But it put us first in line to ride the ponies and when we left that line was really long.

Half way through the cars, Mason and Austin said they had enough candy and they didn't want anymore. But Ashley continued to go to every car. She said we were going, Trick or Treat trunk. We had a super great time! Thanks for inviting us Ann!

Walden Farm

Saturday was a fun day. We took the kids to Walden Farm. They had a few different things this year. They had a cotton patch. I wish I had known beforehand and I would have taught the kids a little about cotton. That was really cool for me to see and touch. The kids however were not very interested in it.

While we were there we ran into our friend, Caleb. We will be going over to his house for Halloween and trick or treating in his neighborhood this year.

The kids always love to look at the animals. This year Ashley actually pet some of the animals. I tried SO hard to get a picture of her petting an animal. Ugh! I had a picture on here and somehow I acidentally deleted it and now I can't seem to load it again. Well you will just have to check out my next blog.

The boys were all about feeding the animals. And last year I got tons of good pictures of them touching and feeding the animals.

Ok Aussie is driving me crazy right now...I will have to blog later.

melting and lunch date

Today, Greg and I went on a lunch date. We went to Maggianos. Well I'm glad we went, it was very nice and now I know I don't want to go back. It's very expensive and the food was just ok.

Anyway, the atmosphere is very beautiful. A lady came to the table and poured the olive oil. I asked her what she recommended, and in her foreign voice she said, "ask server." So the server came to the table and in this gorgeous resteraunt I hear, "How y'all doin'?" in the biggest country voice I've heard in a long time. At first I thought he was teasing, but I soon found out that our server was indeed a big 'ol country boy. It was kind of a shock to the system. Anyway, I thought the Lasagna would be so yummy. Unfortunately, it was made with italian sausage and it hurt my stomach. Greg liked his chicken parmagian sandwich. I had a bite and I thought again it was just ok. I really didn't like having big fresh basil leaves (like lettuce) on it. Don't get me wrong I like basil, but this was a bit much. Anyway, that's my review of Maggianos.

Pictures with Jann

Sunday, Dana and her kids, Jann and Me and my kids went to a little abandoned house to take pictures. Dana and Jann got fabulous new cameras. All I can say is that I haven't been this jealous in a long time. They both got the Canon Rebel XTi. Anyway, they wanted to play with their cameras and well I just have the perfect subjects to do so. I took a few pictures and here is one of them that is just adorable! All 5 kids loving on Jann! This picture was taken with my little pocket digital Nikon. Firestation Tour

Hello everyone. I'm alive...I'm just staying busy!

Look at where we went today: We went to the local firestation with my mom's group. All of our kids are about the same age. So they didn't have many questions. It was all new to them.
Each of them got to spray the water hose and then Austin asked if he could see inside the fire truck. So they let my kids hop in the fire truck. Most of the others had left already.

Pine cones are Gone

Wooooo is it chilly here today. I love it!

Well the pine cones are GONE. Not just dropped from the tree. Not anywhere in the yard. They are GONE. They were there this morning. Those darn squirrels, the birds didn't even have a chance. Well atleast the bird houses are still attached to the tree and they have some birdseed in each of them.

For all of you English majors out there...Yes I know I have a ton of fragment sentences. But this is called "Effect writing". It's a form of Art in a way.

It's been too long-but I have lots of pictures to make up for it!

Oh it has been too long! I have so much to say!

My Mom came into town last Wednesday and went home Monday afternoon. We had a great visit. We went shopping. Someone gave her a gift certificate to JoAnns for taking pictures at her wedding. My Mom didn't need anything at JoAnns so she let me spend $50 there. Whooo Hooo! I loaded up on basic scrapbooking stuff.

On Saturday we went to Radnor Lake. It was such a beautiful day! The kids were not acting their best, so we did not go around the whole lake.

We took the kids to McDonald's to play. I pointed out a little mexican girl to Austin and said that girl speaks Spanish. Why don't you go over there and say "hola"? He said, "I'm going to go over there and say ni hao". I said, "But Austin I don't think she speaks Chinese." And he said, "well I'm going to teach her." So he goes over near her and says, "ni hao" really softly where hardly anybody could hear him. After saying it a few times he came back frustrated and said, "That girl doesn't know Spanish OR Chinese!" LOL!

Today we went to Dana's house. When we were leaving Austin was showing her his Aussie learns Chinese book. I told Austin to say I love my friend in Chinese. We are just learning the word for friend, so he asked me to tell him what friend was. So I told him and he rattled off the whole sentence in Chinese. I think Dana was impressed. I guess I hadn't really blogged about JUST how much my son is into Chinese. He is so into it that I have decided to teach him. Do I know it? HA! But I'm learning with him. I think I will be able to learn survival Chinese, but he will be the one to learn and be able to read it and everything. And the other 2 are interested in Spanish, so I'm teaching Spanish at the same time. Wish me luck!!!

So back to Sunday. I know I am skipping all over the place, but I have to write it as it comes to me or it won't get down. This is how they looked going to church on Sunday. Austin wanted to wear his goggles into church and Ashley wanted to take her pooh bear. I made them leave them in the car and of course they had a bit of a meltdown. UGH!

Anyway, the kids looked so adorable. On my triplet Mom trip I bought the boys ties. I couldn't resist they are so cute. So after church on Sunday I took them out back to take some pictures. they had gathered some pine cones.


They brought them home so I decided to do a craft with them.




So today I had them make bird feeders out of the pine cones. They smeared peanut butter on the cones and then poured birdseed on them. They really turned out cute.

Next we took them outside to hang up. We also hung up the birdhouses they built and painted from Lowes and the birdhouses they painted the last time my Mom was in town. Isn't this so cute. They are really excited to see the birds come and visit their houses. I really hope they get to see this, and that the squirrels will stay away.

Also, a bit strange today... Austin was my outgoing one. It was like he switched places with Ashley. We went to story time at the library. Austin participated and sang and jumped up and put things on the board when it was his turn and Ashley clung to me and didn't want to get out of my lap. And Austin picked up his toys the FIRST time I said to. It is usually like pulling teeth to get him to pick up anything. He usually ends up playing with whatever he goes to pick up. He was such a good boy today. Ashley on the otherhand...Ay Caramba!!!

Well I guess I better get downstairs and clean up all the birdseed that went everywhere!!! Good night! I hope to blog tomorrow too.

How many triplet moms can you fit in a telephone booth?

I had a great time this weekend. It was so nice hanging out with other people who just know exactly what I am going through. There were 14 of us. All of us had triplets in the summer of 2002. Friday we hung out at the house and just chatted and got to know each other better. And then Saturday we went shopping. We just got together and it was like we already knew each other (well we did by email). It was a fun fun weekend.
