Meet Mongo

Meet Mongo...
This is Mongo. He was created quickly for a birthday party with a Monster Mash theme.
This is actually the original Mongo. He was updated slightly for the second party. Greg wrote this book and we (Greg, Ashley and I) worked hard to color and bind it in time.

Greg here: Mongo is not an evil monster, he's really very friendly and optimistic, but he's not very bright. Before Mongo reads his story to the kids, he says, "Mongo has to make decisions. Sometimes, Mongo makes good decisions. Sometimes, Mongo makes bad decisions. When Mongo makes a good decision in the story, you say 'Good job, Mongo.' When Mongo makes a bad decision, you say 'Bad idea, Mongo.' Now, here's the story Mongo wrote and drew called Mongo's Day." As you'll see, there were a lot of kids saying "Bad idea, Mongo!"

Trunk or Treat

Last Sunday we had trunk or treat at our church. Greg was Dr. Spock from Star Trek with the JAM crew this year. He had to get there 2 hours early to help set up. So I had to get the kiddos ready by myself. We ended up being late and I was frazzled.
But our church really has a great set up for trunk or treat. Many people really get into it and dress up. And several have some great games to play. The kids always love the fishing one (not pictured). They are given a fishing pole with a clip on the end. They throw it into the "water" (a picture); and from behind the picture someone clips candy to their pole and gives it a little tug like they have caught something.

Ashley dressed up like Zelda. I had a hard time keeping her wig on.

It was great though, because I had already made her outfit for her birthday. So I didn't have to create a new costume or buy one. We just bought the wig and the gloves.

Greg's cost the most this year and he didn't even have a choice. That was the theme chosen for all the JAM crew. It was still fun though.

Mason chose to be Robin again from Teen Titans. I was happy about that. Another costume I didn't have to make!

And Aussie's was the most creative. Can you guess what he is?

I didn't have time to make his ears. I barely had enough time to sew on some of the tri forces. But as you probably can tell he wanted to be his made up character Cat Link.

We went out again on Halloween night and I made the ears and tail. I haven't edited those pictures yet. I'm hoping I got a good picture.
