First day of school

Last post for now.

Look how sweet this is! One of my Kindergarten students gave me this on the first day of school.

It had these pretty pencils in it as well!

I did have a great day of class. I really REALLY didn't want to start school that early, but I didn't have a choice. But I have the greatest class! 6 kindergartners and 1 first grade student. I love them all! We've had lots of fun!

We are making a scrapbook in class. It includes our lesson for the week and I include a picture from each class. It's really adorable. I may share some of it here. A friend has encouraged me to photograph it and put it on Pinterest. I just got permission from the person who created the curriculum to link to her page. The only thing I need to figure out is if I can post pictures of my class. I don't know how their parents feel about their kids pictures being on the internet.

Now onto my own children, I had to get the first day of school picture. We got home from co-op and I said, "Come on kids. Let's go outside for your annual first day of school picture."

Aussie said, "Let me get this straight. Are we supposed to act how we feel about school or are we supposed to act...?"

I cut him off before he finished the next sentence and said, "NO, of course not! You are supposed to act like how you feel once you've gotten home from school and can now get on the computer."

Aussie replied "OK" with a big smile!

Their real birthday- July 27-30

Here is There actual birthday weekend.

Nana, Papa and cousin Blade came up from Florida. They met us early the day of the kid's birthday at Cracker Barrel for breakfast.

Since it was his birthday Greg allowed Aussie to get 2 orders of hash browns for breakfast. I don't know that I would have been that kind.

We had to get the annual birthday picture at the time they were born.

Nana and Papa were going to take the kids to the mall to spend their birthday money. They started talking about things they would like to get and some of the things they said were things I had bought. So I quickly wrapped their presents from us and gave it to them.

There were 3 presents on the floor and naturally they thought each of them got one of them. Aussie was tickled to find he got 2 of the packages.

Ashley was like, "HEY wheres my present?" We made her close her eyes when Greg brought in this big one.

It wasn't that expensive but too big to wrap normally, so I put it in a big Rubbermaid container, which will double as where she can put all her American Girl stuff.

Mason got a certificate to some computer game.

Aussie got a few different Rubik's cubes.

Then on Tuesday we had a small birthday party at Sky High trampoline place. I'll tell you what it was the best birthday party from my stand point ever! I didn't have to clean up or prepare anything. I just bought the cake and showed up.

The cake was a bit disappointing but everyone else liked it. Does it look like it's sloping in the middle? Well it is! Yes, a professional cake- pretty pitiful huh! Oh well! I got lots of compliments on it. And why did they use yellow icing around it? The picture of it showed red and was much cuter! Whatever!

The kids favorite part was playing dodge ball and my kids were really good at it!

4th of July- A week in review

Alrighty, so as I was posting pictures from yesterday I noticed I accidentally saved the pictures in a file of other web photos that I haven't put on the web. So I've got some catchin' up to do.

Here is a week in review of the week we were in Ohio over July 4th.

The kids love to go to Boettler park when we visit my parents. And why wouldn't they? Look at this awesome park!

One of their favorite things is the zip line.

Gramma got a new puppy for her birthday in June. The puppy's name is Maggie and she is SO lovable!

While we were there, a friend requested that we send a text to another friend with a picture of our family for his birthday. So we took a quick family picture in front of the lake on my parent's property.

Ashley had a sty on her eye, which was very painful and looked horrendous. So in most of the pictures she is covering her eye with her hair. She had been on an antibiotic for a few days and it did clear up while we were there.

Ashley and I got our haircut while we were there. Ashley didn't like her haircut so she bought this big floppy hat to hide it. It really is cute though!

And of course we went out on the boat for the fireworks. I was disappointed in the music that was played. The radio station that hosted this year was a little to hard for me. They played old hard rock and roll. They did play some patriotic songs as well, but I didn't care to listen to the rest of the songs. We took 2 boats this year and the driver of the boat we were in apparently REALLY liked that music and played it quite loud! It was annoying!

However, we got rock star seating for the show. Usually, we would leave an hour early and get to the middle of the lake. This year though it rained and we couldn't leave that early. When we got close a police boat stopped us from going any further and we were forced to anchor in a different spot. But it turned out to be the best spot. We were so close we were being hit by some of the casing of the fireworks.
