At the State Fair 2010

Wow I had a time tonight uploading these pictures! I don't know if it was Blogger, Picasa or my computer that caused the uploading to freeze. I had to press CTRL- ALT- DEL and end the task at least 10 times. It was very frustrating. But they are on now and I can share with you our day at the state fair. Remember these pictures are taken with my phone. (Not too bad for a phone I might add.)

These pumpkins were HUGE! Do you see the sign below? This one weighed 956 pounds! That is amazing!

I don't think I have ever seen a watermelon as big as these! I know that the smaller pumpkins are better for eating, I wonder how the big watermelons would taste. Are they the same as the smaller? Or do they lose taste when they get that big?

The kids love to play on these inflatables!

OK so follow me if you will. This happens often where Aussie goes off on his own so the other two play with each other. So a little time goes by and Aussie realizes that he is playing by himself and wonders why the other two are not playing with him.

Here is Mason and Ashley doing their thing.

Now here is Aussie. He is completely on the other side of the sandbox from the other two.Because this camera is not fast enough it doesn't show that he is taking sand and throwing it up in the air on top of himself.OK so he realizes he is by himself and he goes over to play with the other two. But he is still doing his own thing. And he gets the other two to start putting sand on his legs.Now! Skip to dinner. Aussie tells Greg that the reason he has sand in his hair is because Ashley put sand in his hair. Ahem...I called him on it! I did see her put sand in his hair, but as you can tell from the pictures he had sand in his hair long before she entered the picture!In frontier land they got to make bracelets.

They had this cute little play farm set up. None of us noticed it was for 3 and under until we were finished playing in there. But the kids had a blast!

They went around gathering fruits and vegis from different places.

When they filled up their baskets they showed the lady up front. She told them now if they put everything back where it belongs she would give them a treat.

Ah and you can't get out of the fair without buying "fair" food! Mason with his HUGE bag of cotton candy.

There were many of these cut-outs. My phone died 45 minutes before we left or I would have gotten several more pictures of these.

I love this angora rabbit!

Their favorite part was getting little glass figurines from the glass blower. And I didn't even get pictures of that!

Our Chick-Fil-A Rocks!

The Brentwood Chick-Fil-A on Tuesday nights is just fabulous! They do it better than all the other Chick-Fil-As around.

The kids got their faces painted. I have to admit I was totally surprised Mason picked a tiger but it looks cute on him. Usually they don't want what the others are getting and since Ashley is all about tigers, I totally expected to see her come around the corner with a tiger face. But with Ashley's they put glitter all over to make her more girly.
And I wasn't a bit surprised when Aussie came back with a cat face.

This Chick-Fil-A Rocks!!!

This was after a long day at the state fair. It was homeschool day and we got in free!

I accidentally left my camera in the car, but I took several pictures from my phone. But now I have to figure out how to get those on my computer. And then once I do that I'll blog it.

Webkinz and Hodge Podge

Today I took Ashley and Mason to a birthday party while Aussie went to Chinese class. Then after the party we met up in Franklin at a Hallmark store that was hosting a special Webkinz event. They were giving out tons of prizes. This is just a small portion of what all of us got. The big skunk Webkinz was not include that is my Webkinz. But the shirt she is wearing is one of the prizes we received. I wish I would have thought of taking a picture of everything before opening and dispersing everything. Oh well. This gives you an idea of what we got. I also wish I had gotten pictures of the games we played. What was I thinking? I guess I was thinking we need to get to everything before the huge storm comes.

Aussie doesn't like much music. But there is ONE song that I know he likes. And it happened to be one of the songs that they could sing to get a prize. Here are the boys anticipating the song to begin.

Yesterday, I went SHOPPING! I enjoy it a bit too much. But I got this bookshelf at Goodwill and then I went out to JoAnn's and got these baskets. I am so thrilled to show you my new organized homeschool material space. So much better than piles on the floor.

This certainly made me giggle when I saw it. I suppose I shouldn't have parked there.

I'm tickled to say there is a new scrapbook store nearby. I went to check it out last night and bought a few goodies. I had forgotten just how expensive all of that stuff is! Now I remember where all my money used to go. I'm afraid it just might be going there again when the crops start up. While I was there I ran into a friend I hadn't seen since Scrap It! closed. It was nice to catch up with her. She told me my kids were BEAUTIFUL! I guess I was quite confused and shocked that she even knew what they looked like that I didn't even ask her how she or her family were. She told me she reads my blog. I had NO idea! Angel- Why haven't you commented?

Anyway, I'm all over the place tonight with a little of this and a little of that. Greg and I watched a movie tonight. I didn't think it was all that good, but it was nice to just relax, have some popcorn and watch a show with Greg.

Unfortunately, I decided to fix the shower door handle that came off months ago and I got super glue on my hand. It is driving me crazy! I know it will come off eventually, but I'm hoping sooner rather than later.

I think I'll go to bed now. It will be the first time all week long that I've gone to bed before 1:30.

Girl Scout Camp- Camp Holloway

Well as many of you know I went to Girl Scout camp with Ashley over the weekend. Getting there was a big adventure! I was exhausted so we left the house 1 hour later than we should have. Turns out that was a blessing. There was an accident on the road we were travelling that had traffic stopped for 3+ hours. My friends who left on time were not as lucky. They were stuck in traffic the entire time. I basically caught up with them and was stuck for 2 hours. I was trying to figure out if I should get off at the next exit and go a different route. I rolled down my window and talked to the person beside me. He told me about the accident and that they thought it would be cleaned up by 8:00. It was 8:15 when I talked to him. The next exit was 1 1/2 miles away and going at a snails pace meant it took about 30 minutes to get there. By the time I got there the traffic began to pick up, so I decided to continue on. I reached my destination about 5 minutes after my friends got there. But unfortunately when I got there my friend was in tears. She had written down the wrong camp. And gave us all directions here. SO an hour and a half later we made it to the camp we were supposed to be.

Four girls out of seven in the Brownie group came. We stayed with the Junior group (that were friends and sisters to the Brownies.)

The camp was beautiful! We stayed in this cabin, which is more like a lodge. The girls stayed in one room and there was a separate room for the adults. There were 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, fireplace, electricity and occasionally I was able to connect to the Internet. It was really nice.

The girls made LOTS of crafts. Here is one of them making a lei. The whole weekend was a Hawaiian Luau theme.Unfortunately, Saturday morning I got sick. I have no idea what happened, but anytime I was standing up my stomach hurt. So I went back to bed, while the girls made their leis and went on an obstacle course. Thankfully, I had a friend who took pictures. On Saturday night I pulled all of our pictures together and put them on my computer. Here is Ashley going through the obstacle course.

After lunch I felt better and I went with the girls swimming for 45 minutes. By the time I got back I was 100% better.

Then the girls made more crafts. They made these cute t-shirts that say I "heart" Brownies and they decorated these hats. They sewed buttons on a little bag and made bracelets.

Then they went on a little adventure. Where they went on a nature walk.

There were lots of butterflies, all different kinds.

And they made little animal shelters out of rocks, sticks and leaves. Then they laid down in the grass and was supposed to listen to all the different sounds. That is when I snuck up on Ashley and made a kissy sound in her face, in which she made this face. I love it!

Ashley sure is a little hugger. I'm glad I suppose. She takes after her Daddy in that area. I am not a hugger. It makes me uncomfortable.

Now was the time they had all been waiting for! They had been asking all weekend long when they were going to the luau. Here they are with their sister group (who was also staying in our cabin.)

Before camp the girls made friendship pins. They made 40-50 pins to swap with other girl scouts. They were so excited to do this. Ashley (Mommy) made hula girl pins and Ashley put beads in the girl's hair.

The hats that they decorated earlier were supposed to be used to attach their pins.

The girls had a great time!!!

I had a great time too.

On Sunday morning when it was time to leave Ashley cried. You see her friends were riding together in one car, but we were driving separately because we were going in a different direction than they were. But the little drama queen said, "I didn't get to play with my friends ALL weekend long." But as you can tell by the pictures they didn't play at all and they all had a terrible time. NOT! She was just tired and feeling left out at the moment. But you can be sure she told her brothers all about the fun she had at camp.
