It's a HAIRY situation

You can be the judge. So do you think that my haircut looks like the pictures I brought in?
Back view:

I'm thinking it's time to change hairdressers. Yes, it is similar, but she cut it way shorter on the sides. It looks like she even layered it on one of the sides.

Side view:

front view:

I think it is only OK, it will grow out. But my daughter had a complete meltdown tonight and told me she wanted her Mommy back. She said she was really sorry, but she wanted my hair back the way it was. She cried herself to sleep tonight. Earlier in the day she told me I look like Gramma. Yes my hair does look a lot like my Mom's now. I think I look much older with this cut. My Mom asked me to ask her how she should have her hair. Her response: Like my hair the way it used to be.

So anyone know a good hairdresser in the Nashville area?

The haircut I want

Tomorrow I'm getting my haircut.
This is what I want:

But everytime I go to get it cut, my hairdresser does it the same way, no matter how I tell her I want it. This time she has no excuse. I have a front, side and back picture to show what I want. If she doesn't get it right this time then I need to find someone else to cut my hair.

This picture is of Brandi, who works at the YMCA. I've asked her where she gets hers cut and she says a friend cuts her hair and only comes into town every now and then. So no luck going to her hairdresser.

Oh- I plan on only getting the cut. Even though I love the blond, that is too much $$$ to keep it up.

Wish me luck. I'll post pictures tomorrow night.

June 10th

I'm VERY tired and the kids are still up watching a movie with their Daddy. I would go to bed, but the best TV is in our room, so that's where they are watching it.

Yesterday, I taught the kids how to play UNO. They love it. We played one game that took at least 1 1/2 hours and Aussie won the game. He was so pleased with himself, especially since the box says it is for 7 years old and up. You should have heard them all giggling! Mason really has that competiveness. He was beside me so he was so excited when he could make me pick up cards.

We went to see Surf's Up at the movie theatre today. You got to love the free movies in the summer deal! It was a really cute movie and the kids enjoyed it.

My tummy is still not up to par. I didn't call the doctor yesterday because I was feeling good most of the day and thought it might just be a bug. I'm still not sure whether to call or not.

Oh good the movie is over- time for bed!

side effects

Hmmmmm....I wonder if my new medicine is causing me to not feel well. I've had at least 4 of the side effects listed below. For now I'm just going to watch it and hope that my body gets used to the medicine. If it continues I'll definitely call my doctor.

Levothyroxine
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Levothyroxine:
Anxiety; diarrhea; flushing; mood swings; muscle weakness; partial, temporary hair loss; sleeplessness; stomach cramps; tiredness; vomiting.

anxiety attack

Hello again!

Yesterday- I had some sort of aniety attack. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but I didn't feel right all day. It hit a peek when VBS let out. If one of my kids just touched my arm, I felt tension travel up my back into my shoulders and neck. I've only had something like this 3-4 other times. I just wanted to cry for no reason. I called the doctor to see if I could take some medicine. I didn't know if it would interfere with the new thyroid medicine I'm on. Thankfully, I could and I actually had it with me. So I took one. It helped quite a bit but not enough. I got home around 5:30 last night. Greg got home shortly after that and he took care of everything and I went to bed.
I did get one layout done yesterday.
Here are a couple of pictures I took as we were leaving VBS yesterday.

Fun at the Y

Wow! These long days are starting to take a toll on me! Day 4 of VBS and I got 2 layouts done. Whoooopeeee! I had a LOT of fun making this one. It's so different from others that I make. I just enjoyed freely putting papers and flowers down just anywhere.
__________

Then off to the YMCA! What fun!! They love this froggy slide. Aussie likes to go down by himself. And Ashley and Mason like us to catch them.
____________

So we left at 8:30 this morning and didn't get home until 8:00 this evening. I'm ready for bed! Here are a few more pool pictures.

WE LOVE the YMCA!

I LOVE this picture!

Tomorrow won't be AS busy, but still another busy day!

Day 3 of VBS

...and another layout done. WoooHooo!

The kids are really enjoying VBS even though in the morning they say, "I don't wanna go." Today, Aussie admitted once we got there that they actually DO like VBS but they miss me.

They have these riding toys there to play on and the kids just love them. After VBS we played with Gabriel, Dalton and Braxton on the playground for a few minutes, since they are not in the same class and don't get to see each other. Oh by the way Renee- Yes, Page is in my kids class. Aussie talks about her everyday. I was going to get a picture of her when I went to pick them up today, but she was already going out the door when I got there.
After VBS, my kids went to Gabriel's house to play for a little bit. (which turned out to be maybe a little longer than Doris wanted---SORRY!) Anyway, the kids had so much fun! They ended up making a "Science" concoction which they called Dead Bug Soup. The giggling was so cute to hear! Doris scored some really cute pictures. I don't know if she will post them.
--------------------
And then we went to the Y for swim lessons. Tonight was much more organized than yesterday. Mason still refuses to put his face in the water.
----------------
Then we played in the pool after swim lessons till 7:00 and Aussie actually cried when we had to leave. That has been one area in the past that we have been lucky with. When we say we have to go and give them so many more minutes to play, they usually go pretty easily. So this was a bit of a surprise when he acted like that. I don't think he would have ever thought about dinner and would have played until they shut the pool down. He is a little water bug!

VBS

Another productive day while the kids were at VBS today. I got this layout done.

The kids really like VBS. Today they made sun visors. Yesterday they painted shirts. They get to wear the shirts tomorrow.

--------------------

Then the kids had swimming lessons in the evening. They were so excited they couldn't stand still. Aussie was all over the place. Ashley listened intently and Mason was a little scared to get his face in the water. Then we went to Chick-Fil-A for our $.99 meals. (Don't you think that there should be a cent sign on a keyboard?)

---------------------------------

As I was cuddling with Austin tonight, he asked what is a period. OH no I thought, he must have heard me say something (being my cycle time). Of course I'm thinking all these things in my head and trying to answer. I started out saying... "Weeeelll it could mean a couple of things. He said, "Tell me all of what you know." I said, "It could mean what you put at the end of a sentence." He said, "yes it's a full stop at the end of a sentence." I said, "That's right." Then I got smart and said, "Where did you hear the word so I can tell you the meaning.?" I just knew he was going to say he heard it from me. But he said, "It was on Between the Lions". PHEW!!!!

OK- phew the barking has stopped and I think I can actually go to sleep now!

Today I actually got to scrapbook a little bit. Here is the layout I did.
OK- goodnight!

freakin' dogs!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

It's nights like these where I wish I had enough guts to call the police on my neighbors STUPID dogs!!!! I HATE THEM!!!

My head is hurting tonight and the dogs are barking non-stop!

I don't understand why some people own animals and leave them tied up or in a small fenced in area day and night. Why even own a pet if you are going to do that? I like dogs (preferably small indoor dogs). But those dogs next door really are making me go pysch0!!

What's bad is that my next door neighbors are friends. They are very sweet people. I don't talk to them often, but I'm tempted to call them tonight and tell them to get their dogs inside. And yet I want to keep peace and not upset anyone! UGH! What do I do?

It's a HOT day!

Wow! What a day! It is HOT!
Today started with me introducing a contest to the kids. I told them that they had to read 20 books this week. We would put a sticker on the chart after each book that was read. When everyone has read the 20 books we would have a party. And I said whoever reads all of them firsts gets to pick what kind of cake we have. I actually expected moans and groans about reading. But the one who usually groans the loudest, piddles and fiddles his thumbs the most is the one who was MOST determined to win. SO what I thought would take a week...Austin finished in 1 day!!! He was so excited he was bouncing off the walls!AND they were actually fighting over who would read next.
We went to the park today. This is one of their favorite things to play on. Aussie zipped across it quickly! Apparantly, he was timed last time he was there, so he was telling me he could get across in 9 seconds. He is so competitive and really needs affirmation.
Ashley sports her new "style". You know she used to be really good about picking out her clothes. She is VERY confident in what she puts together and she won't let anyone tell her differently!
They found a rock to climb on and called it castle rock.

Aussie liked the zip line!
On our way out a special guest showed up at the park (for a birthday party). So we were very excited to see Spiderman before we left.
After the park we went to a friend's graduation party. The kids just LOVE her! So Aussie drew a special picture and message for her.

It says, "Can you come to my birthday?" and then it is decorated with the flags he made up for each country in Catland, a world that he made up. But what everyone is impressed with, including myself, is that he writes in block letters.
So today he was impressing everyone with his letters, speaking Chinese, and his conversations he had with adults. (sometimes he is so grown up)
And after Aussie climbed up in the window the other two had to climb up there too. And of course what a perfect picture opportunity!
Now we are home with the air conditioner NOT working. I'm sweating! The guy will come and fix it on Monday. I'm not looking forward to the next 2 nights.
I've got to remember....I must I must re-charge the batteries in my camera. I better go do that now.

Math videos below

Check out these Math tricks in the videos below. I've gotten so excited about them that I went ahead and bought the program for all 30 tips. It's only $25 and you get it here.

I found out about them from my friend SHEZ. She is a pretty amazing homeschool Mom. You can check out some of the other amazing things she does here.

Anyway on another note- Today I had my skin tags and moles removed. Thank goodness it wasn't as bad as I expected. And now it is all taken care of! I had 2 moles removed last week and they are still hurting a bit. I asked today when the pain would go away and she said it usually took around 2 weeks. At least it is not terrible, just annoying.

My kids want lunch and I have been obssessed with this Math thing. So I better get off the computer and go feed them.

Talk to you soon!

Guess what today is?

Guess what today is? (Well OK, yes it is Memorial Day-but guess what else.)

Today was Ashley and Mason's last day of homework. They both wanted to do tomorrow's work so they could be finished today. Aussie was very jealous, but he would not do the work. Mason and Ashley ran around the house saying, "We are in First Grade NOW". They were so excited!!! But technically we have 2 more days we legally have to do for school. So the next 2 days will be field trip days.

Kiki found herself a new bed.

On Sunday the kids wanted to race Greg at church.

When Ashley got behind she just stopped and cried and sulked all the way back. She was so sad that she couldn't keep up.

Mason finds a new seat?

And so does Ashley!
